In-store pick-upIn-store shopping
I had to return shoes bought online for a different size. The staff was very competent, friendly and attentive. Good job! It was a pleasant and easy shopping experience. I was helped by the young, blond, perhaps Eastern European lady. I am just specify as I forgot her name, but I hope management notices she provides great service.

I don't shop much like many. In light of Covid-19, I tend to have some free time to organize life a bit. Hence, I decided to refine my wardrobe. Thus, I purchased four articles from Aldo online and arranged to pick it up from their location on Robson Street, Vancouver. After a few weeks I received an email that part of the order has arrived at the store on Robson and ready to be picked up. As excited as one would be on a clear bright sunny day; I checked out google for their hours, which shows me that they are open until 7:00 pm. This has been the time majority of the stores closed in this area given the pandemic. I rushed out and got to the front of the store at 6:30 pm; long behold, I see the manager and an employee outside of the store locking up. I, distraught of course, given that I rushed over from work. Gently asking, \what time do you guys close?\. With a certain disdain, the manager answers, \at 6:00 pm\. I voiced that google says, 7:00 pm; and her answer, \we don't go according to google\, and simply walks away into the distant crowd. Keep reading, the latter is just the tip of the iceberg. Again, I make an effort to go the next day before 5:00 pm. I rush over from work once again; walk up to the check-out counter, provide order details to an Asian kid. He retrieves the order and hands it to me. I ask him may I have them in a proper bag. And his reply, \we charge 1.00 for a bag\. See picture attached, and perhaps, you, the reader can decide. Perhaps I am wrong in asking for a bag from a well established retailer that spends millions of dollars on advertising and marketing their products to the masses. Robson being a street where many upscale brands house themselves, certainly knows that an individual carrying a shopping bag, visible with the store's logo and walking down the streets of downtown is tremendously valuable. Perhaps the marketing department missed the memo that this is a marketing ploy which truly is priceless. I digress.
Nice shop, welcoming service, good location, good quality product including plenty of vegan options. One problem I experience with ALDO not the first time is that they don't provide enough various accessories like laces for their own shoe models if you need to replace ones. It looks for me like a basic stuff for a shoe shop which left underlooked.
Asian female manager or supervisor or whatever is not only blatantly rude but clearly doesn’t like people in general. Get out of the consumer business industry if you don’t know how to treat people with respect. I’m sure the core front end staff are nice enough.
Friendly staff, good selection of shoes and accessories.
