British Columbia Utilities Commission is located in Vancouver, Canada on 900 Howe St. British Columbia Utilities Commission is rated 3.2 out of 5 in the category federal government office in Canada. The British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) is an independent regulatory tribunal established by the Provincial Government. As a quasi-judicial tribunal, the BCUC is an independent decision-maker and has the power to make legally binding decisions. The BCUC operates under and administers the Utilities Commission Act. Our primary responsibility is regulating natural gas and electric utilities. We also regulate universal compulsory automobile insurance rates (basic auto insurance) of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) and intraprovincial pipelines. In addition, we manage the Customer Choice Program for gas marketer customers and handle customer inquiries about regulated entities. Our mandate is to ensure British Columbians receive safe, reliable and non-discriminatory energy services at fair rates from the entities we regulate and that shareholders of these bodies have a reasonable opportunity to earn a fair return on their investments. As well, the Commission ensures ICBC provides basic auto insurance in a way that is adequate, fair, just and reasonable. The BCUC encourages public participation through a fair, transparent and inclusive process. Public involvement in our proceedings ensures decisions are made in the public interest and take into consideration the relevant views. I am sick and tired of working for Bills and being overtaxed badly. Under tremendous stress to get fuel and heat and more times than not, wondering where the money is coming from, and what do I have to sacrifice to get these needed items. I will never be able to get electric car or afford it. And most of the time I have to not pay this to pay for that. Why is all this being monopolized. It really has to stop, you may think it's funny or you may not care about anyone except yourselves. But we do have rights and if I could ( and will soon) I would bypass all of this and not worry about it. Hoping to win the lottery is the same as whether I pay my utilities. And I really do hate being stressed all the time and out here in the interior we do not have a choice, which sucks huge. Quit gambling with my life. I do not live and work for you.

Why is B.C. Utilities Commission allowing B.C. Hydro to scam its customers by charging a bogus Customer Crisis Fund fee? Any amounts of unpaid customer accounts or those amounts in arrears have already been calculated into the hydro fees that the consumer pays. This is nothing short of a money grab as the corporation is investing these funds and earning interest on them over this 2 year probationary period. If the corporation is truly concerned about some customers not being able to pay their accounts because of dire financial circumstances then it should set in place some form of monthly insurance that those consumers can opt into. Much like credit card companies do. This is nothing short of corporate greed under the guise of altruism (or in this case socialism as consumers do not have the choice to opt out of paying the fee). I for one refuse to pay the fee.

Total Government corruption... ICBC IN BED WITH PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT ... SO WHEN DOES AN INSURANCE COMPANY BECOME ENGRAINED IN THE MOTOR VEHICLE ACT ? ..BC ... LIKE IT OR NOT IS A LEFT COAST ZOMBIFIED PROVINCE THAT RIDES IT'S MINIONS .. JUST LOOK WHAT THEY HAVE DONE WHEN THERE WAS AN INQUIREY ABOUT GAS PRICES IN 2019... THE PUMPS MYSTERIOUSLY DROPPED THEIR PRICES BY 30 CENTS A LITRE... STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOKE OF A PROVINCE CONTROLLED BY CORPORATE CRIMINALS...
