Dreadful place. We got put in room 524, which is an interior room (no outside window). The only ventilation is to open up the interior window to the skylight shaft, except this is also the only ventilation for everyone else stuck in an interior room from 1st to 5th floors, and it only takes one guy chuffing away on their cannabis to force everyone else to have to close their windows. Let’s put it this way: it was a high of 17C outside, but the room rocketed up to like 28C all night long (and zero chance for relief). We had an incident with the janitor. My son was having a shower and I was keeping watch so nobody would steal his stuff, or whatever. The janitor was furious, “what are you doing here!” and my reply, “we are having a shower and doing laundry”. He looked in the shower stall and noticed I had moved the garbage can in there (to use as a place to put dirty clothes off of the floor), he reached under the door and snatched it scattering the clothes everywhere. “You don’t move the garbage can, I’m the boss here, I’ve been here 30 years!” the guy is screaming incoherently. We packed up and left. The forecast is for 27C by Sunday, the place will be practically intolerable by then. I snapped a few pics of this incredible, unreal hell hole.

Let's be honest it's one of the cheapest place to stay in a very expensive city. The room could have been cleaned they were a lot of fluff and bandaid wrappers on the floor but it didn't smell and was rather spacious for a hostel. The only really negative point is the cleaner who did the room I was still sleeping on didn't change the pillow cases when he redid the empty beds... and that is really unhygienic. Positive point the receptionist man is really nice abd very helpfull when it comes to storage luggage for a few hours. I would come when i have another stopover in Vancouver and would recommend it to travellers for a short stay but keep in mind that you will get what you paid for.

Pacific Station Backpackers Hostel review: pros: location, price, nice and large window with a good view, box tv (one channel is all you need), Cons: disturbing communal shower, insects in the communal kitchen, loud street, sink with no hand soap, no shampoo, shared bunk beds, one outlet per dorm room, disgusting beds, dirty floors, dirty blankets, no heating system in room, extremely old building, pillows with no pillow cases, very sketchy vibe to the place... overall very convenient though.

Stayed for the night awhile back and it's in a perfect location, right next to the bus and train. The "bar" attached is garbage but there's a nicer bar a few blocks away called London pub & the food is phenomenal there. The staff are wonderful, and I found it to be very quiet for it's location. Will definitely be staying here again :)

Really enjoyed staying here while backpacking across Canada, it is nice and spacious and clean. The bed's were quite comfortable as well. Enjoyed my stay, probably my favourite place I have been to. Great location and easy to transport around Vancouver and also easy to get back to :)

This is a cheap hostel next to the train station and you get exactly what you pay for. My room was clean and the front desk staff were actually incredibly helpful. But the rooms could definitely do with a bit of updating. Overall would recommend if you have an early train to catch!

The rating is because they clearly tried to make the place a decent place. It's also in a great spot, maybe a little shady at night though, especially being above a bar. They painted everything on our floor to spruce the place up but it was exactly what we paid for. Not recommended for kids. There was a girl that checked in by herself and had checked out around the same time that we did and she seemed like her stay was fine. The communal bathrooms and showers aren't too nice. The elevator has "just" broken and it felt like it had been for awhile.
