Ordered a chicken salad and was very disappointed by all ingredients (salad didn't look fresh at all, chicken had a funny taste). Ate only a half of it. Stuff was really nice, appreciate their job.
Chop N Toss is a bit like a mini pop-up version of Chopped Leaf. A colleague and I stumbled across it in the basement of the Bentall towers - note that it's located in one of the passageways, not in the food court. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to return there, but we both had the spicy chicken salad and thought it was quite good. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Three tiny tables for those not taking their food back to their desks.
Good prices, very decent portions compared to other restaurants in the area. Got the yam noodle box, was pleasantly full. Good variety of veggies, but just didnt enjoy the iceberg lettuce in there.
I have gone to Chop n Toss in Bentall every day for the past 4 months. It was a healthy lunch and was always a decent amount of salad. Today I was presented with an incredibly small salad and asked why it was so small. I was told that they are under new ownership and were told to reduce the amount of greens and protein. Now it is just an overpriced salad and I am so sad that I have lost my every day lunch spot.
terrible service. I ordered a make your own salad and asked for broccoli - i got two tiny pieces. Also, the place is called "chop n toss" , you would think they would "chop" the salad. Mine just looks like a lot of lettuce with a few pieces of veggies at the bottom.
The guy working there picked my salad with the same hand (gloved) he was touching other container lids. Also, the lettuce in salad was not fresh, it had black lines on the edges of their leaves ... Not going there any more :-)
I don't understand how ot is possible that they have only one person in the shop attending customers during lunch hour. The poor guy was doing everything by himself while there was quite a line of customers waiting. After 15-20min wait, it was my turn but they had run out of everything and anything I asked for. Too bad, the food look yummy.
