Kitchen is a little slice of metropolitan life smack dab in the middle of Main street Vancouver. This well appointed restaurant features a cozy warm interior that's inviting like a southern Italian villa. The back Patio is where You want to sit though, transport yourself directly to Italy! The foliage, fountain and music are just right, and in the evening candles and heaters come on. The food is authentic Italian cuisine with Meatballs being the star of the menu! You just want Meatballs? for sure! With spaghetti? Yes! On a slider? Why not it's a brioche bun! The sides are just as good as the mains with intense flavors that dance on the tongue! If you need a vacation or just a nwe experience try Kitchen on Main.

Just came back from a really terrific meal at Tapas 23. Everything we had on the menu was delicious- interesting spins on Spanish food ( ie better than Spanish food) and lots of choices for non-meat eaters. Warm and attentive service. A really great addition to the neighbourhood. I can't wait to hang out on the patio in the summer.
My favorite new restaurant in Vancouver. I have brought different friends and family on numerous occassions and its always been great with new things on the menu. If you are looking for somewhere new, funky, casual, delicious and entertaining. Herschel the owner brings years of experience in the restaurant and bar business from Whistler to Vancouver. You won't want to just go once.
NO IT'S NOT EMPTY. When my wife and I walked by it looked empty but everybody was on the back patio (which was packed). Great tapas. Staff were really nice and the food was top drawer. Mussel, prawn and the steak dishes were brilliant. Sangria was a deal at 5 for a large glass. I've been twice now and will go back again.
My wife and I went here recently for brunch. We sat in the very nice, enclosed back patio area. It was a beautiful summer day and most of the patio seats were occupied with other relaxed, happy looking patrons. I had the French toast and my wife had the eggs benny. Both were excellent and I added some pictures to give you an idea (see the pictures section). Service was friendly, relaxed yet attentive, all of which fit with the overall vibe of the restaurant. At the end of our meal my wife and I started chatting with our server. I mentioned that we were celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary that weekend, that we went on our first date up the street, and that my wife grew up in the neighborhood. A few minutes later the server appeared at our table with a piece of house made cheesecake (which was delicious) on the house just because she thought our story was a bit romantic. A few minutes later the other server walked by and wished us a happy anniversary. A few minutes after that the owner strolled by and did the same. Overall this was a very pleasantly memorable experience. I'm sure we will be back, perhaps next time to try out the lunch or dinner menu.
The foods okay but I don't think you'll find more rude staff anywhere in the lower mainland. The manager approached my wife and myself forty five minutes into our meal. We don't get the chance to get out much with the kids at home so we had several glasses of wine and a few appetizers. I don't know if this moron thought we were done ordering (we were going to order entrees) but he told us we had to leave as he needed the table for another party. That's the kind of customer service you can expect here. Don't order food fast enough for their liking? Then you have to leave. It's obvious they see their customers only as dollar bills and not people. Awful.
