MacSailing offers a variety of courses to take for all ages! Also the instructors here are super duper nice! The sailboats here are in top quality so safety is not an issue, if your interested in sailing I would 100% recommend you start here at MacSailing.

The instructors were quite amateurish, doing nothing but watching and driving away as multiple kids had to paddle away under the sun for hours, leading them far away from the base camp then leaving them there for an hour or so. Doing nothing to help until the very end of the day. Very disappointed in how they treated the situation.
I had a very mixed experience with Mac Sailing. The week I was doing my course there was very little wind - which is outside of their control - but they did their best on the days there was wind, until the second last evening of the course. We were only supposed to stay on the water for a little while before returning to the classroom for theory. The instructors decided to keep us on the water longer than planned when a freak storm blew up and they scrambled to get all of the boats back to shore. It was a scary experience that resulted in me getting a minor concussion after the boom hit the top of my head before capsizing. When we all finally made it back to shore safely, we returned to the classroom for a headcount and debrief. One of the instructors told us to always trust our gut in sailing and when he had seen the clouds change over the mountain earlier in the evening he had a bad feeling - however he proceeded to take us further out into the bay. In my opinion, this was not a very smart thing to say and since emailing Mac Sailing with this feedback and to book the make-up class we were promised, I have not received a response - that was over a month ago. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication and would not recommend this course to anyone as a result. The positive of the course was the female instructor, Una, who was there for the summer. Her attention to detail, calm disposition and professionalism - especially when the storm blew up - was outstanding.
Went here twice to try to get a rental and we got the worst people honestly, just down right rude, we got in touch with a manager and they had the person we spoke with who was rude to call us the next day, same experience. I have no idea where this sense of entitlement comes from from the staff to treat customers like they want to, this is supposed to be a place of business, anyway we took our business across the water to West Van (huge difference instantly!). I would also not trust all the 5 stars, they have a discount program that comes with reviewing them and giving them 5 stars. This was truly disheartening and demotivating to someone who is excited to learn how to sail. if you are not a welcoming team just make it an exclusive club and save the embarrassment.
Want to learn to sail? You can't go wrong with MacSailing. Whether it's private lessons or group classes, they make the book knowledge understandable and practical. You'll be out sailing right away no matter your level. And they're great at challenging you to do better, whether a beginner or experienced sailer.
Great experience! Staff is amazing, really good service and boats. Love renting with them and highly recommend it.
The can sail 1 course was great to learn the basics of sailing. Nice instructors, and a great amount of time out on the water
All instructors are excellent, super friendly and knowledgeable. The sailing school is really well run and in a stunning location! Would highly recommend for both kids camps and adult lessons
