Park Place has a caring philosophy. My aunt moved from a VIHA home to Sunridge. All rooms at Sunridge are private and this really helps with infection control during the pandemic. In contrast, the VIHA homes are much older with congested 4 bed wards. The staff at Sunridge are very good and supportive. The reviewer Chris Boldt is entitled to his ideological opinions but others should be careful of his rhetoric.

I give Sunridge Place in Duncan 1 star only because there are some great people working there. Or it would be 0. I was fortunate to be able to move my Mom from there a year ago - to a home run by VIHA. Park Place is a large business. To make a profit. Seniors care should never have anything to do with profit. All BC seniors homes have to follow the same guidelines, but they can be interpreted in different ways and there's too much grey area. Our province needs to take a hard look at this moving forward. Covid 19 has made this very clear. Our present government has thrown lots of money into the care of our young, and continue to do so. This has been needed. Now it's time to deprivatize long term care and look after the now vulnerable seniors that this province's backs have been built on. I am disgusted that only Park Place owned facilities on the island still haven't figured out how to let families see their loved ones. As has been said - their time is running out! It's all about . Looking for care for your elders? Be careful what you choose.
Very helpful service
Not impressed with this place.
