Found this place by surprise. Owner was very friendly and helpful and they seemed very busy with take out orders. Tried out their Veggies inside out grilled cheese and totally fell in love. Very unique and yummy way of making grilled cheese sandwiches. They have very interesting fusion Japanese menu items and the price point is definitely affordable. Their veggies seem very fresh. Excited to try out other menu items. This will definitely be my go to place now. And have recemmended to others. Support locals.

SimpleBites is truly a hole-in-the-wall! In an unassuming spot along Fraser Street lives this local gem with an extensive menu that offers poke bowls, Japanese tapas, and most importantly - sushi burritos. It was my first time finding out about this place and I can't get over their sushi burritos... which costs only around 10. So reasonably priced with incredibly fresh ingredients. The perfect spot to go to for a quick, hearty lunch/dinner without breaking the bank. The portions are so generous. I couldn't even finish half my burrito in one sitting. I'm stoked to come back to try the rest of their menu! Everything sounds so delicious and honestly, I had the hardest time trying to take my pick!
Behind an unpretentious, utilitarian façade is a unique fusion menu of Japanese izakaya cuisine and Western dishes with an Asian twist. The food is delicious and portion sizes are reasonable; a great value overall. The menu is dynamic and seasonal, and therefore some items come-and-go. I highly recommend the chicken karaage bento, sushi burrito, and (if it returns) the kakuni rice bowl (melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly). I haven't tried the more Western-y offerings yet, but given the quality of the aforementioned items, I have no doubt they'll be equally delicious. Despite being a takeout-only establishment, there's clearly a high level of care and attention to detail put into the food; for example, if you order ahead, some items will only be assembled once you actually arrive (e.g. tossing deep-fried chicken in a sauce), to ensure that nothing goes cold and soggy waiting for you. Their online menu was easy to navigate to place and order. While there's a decent amount of customization options, don't expect too many vegetarian/vegan/alternative diet offerings. The staff are friendly, efficient, and respect COVID protocols; I nothing but nice things to say about them. This is definitely a place to check out if you're in the neighbourhood, and worth a detour if you aren't.
Great neighborhood restaurant operated by some of the nicest people around. The food is a blend of Japanese and western favourites that is sure to please a wide range of people. Regardless of what you order you can guarantee that it is going to be delicious and the prices won't break the bank! You can order at the restaurant or order online through their sleek website for pickup or delivery. The staff are always so polite and you can tell they're always happy to see you
I wish I would have tried the sweet & sour chicken grilled cheese that just sounds amazing. This was my first time I kept it “simple” with the simple burger and added fries. Amazing little place. And I’m very happy to support local. Oh and it tastes amazing. I’ll be back soon.
My husband orders from here often not just because we live in the neighborhood, but because the food and service is great. The kitchen clearly takes a lot of care in their food preparation, and in developing delicious menu items. Highly recommend the portabello mushroom, calimare, and the latest sushi burrito special option was delicious (smoked salmon and mango was combination that was new to me, and that I found delicious
Food here is amazing. The attention to detail and care put into their food is unparalleled. One of the best takeout restaurants in Vancouver.
The inside-out Mexican grilled cheese sandwich was bomb! Great mix of crunchy jalapeno chips and a sweet-savoury pepita mole. Definitely coming back to try more :)
