Always have a great time at The Kino. Steve is a lovely bloke. I'm sorry that Bonnie Henry and her staff (all whom have guaranteed jobs) have made life hard for you.

Great tasting tapas, drinks and of course flamingo dancing. My first time experiencing this dance. Felt ecstatic while being mesmerized by the rhythmic dancing along with the impressive guitar playing. I think it was the owner that greeted us but congrats on continuing this fare for another few years. Encouraging everyone to support this little gen in the community. FYI bring bills for gratuity for the dancers as there is no entrance fee. Make reservations.
The Kino is the business that is at the heart of the Cambie Village. Without it, Cambie Village would lose its character. Live comedy, live performances, friendly staff, a respectable beer list, and a comfortable atmosphere make this bar one of the most welcoming places you'll ever walk into. Steve, the owner, is a great guy. He'll come and chat with you at your table and he'll make you feel right at home.
This is a very welcoming and cute gem in the Cambie Village area. This bar has few taps (but Guinness is one of them), no fancy cocktails, but I do highly recommend their sangria. Also recommend the spinach dip or the nachos! The staff, and especially the man who runs the whole thing - are always very nice and attentive. They have stand up comedy on some nights. Its not very big which makes it cozy and very "local" like.
One of the few places in Vancouver with live dancing entertainment. It’s a unique spot with flamenco dancing, music and comedy. The owner was so friendly and talked to his patrons at their tables. They serve tapas. The menu selection was not great and the food was not anything to rave about unfortunately. I expected it to be better plated and more creatively presented. The entertainment makes up for the shortfall in the food experience.
Nothing is more local around Cambie Village like Kino, nothing more unique. From comedy all the way to the flamenco shows, each day a visit to this place is a day to remember. Totally rustic and down to earth, full of visitors but with a bar also with regular. For a full show or just a late afternoon bite and drinks. The place that must be visit around Cambie village
Been coming here off and on for decades. Actually. It's a staple place if you want to slink into a corner and listen to gypsy music and sip.
We are locals in the neighborhood, and decided to give this “tapas” place a try. Food was mediocre. We came here for dinner and ordered tapenade, bruschetta, smoked salmon, patatas bravas and the lamb. The tepenade was good, the bruschetta was overpriced for diced tomatoes on bread with a shaving of Parmesan, the patatas were decent but came with a pizza sauce marinara dipping sauce from a can, and the lamb was over cooked, but palatable. We had a pitcher of sangria, which wasn’t bad, but was primarily apples and ice. Overall bad experience. There is much better fare in the area, don’t waste your time here. UPDATE: we went to Rain or Shine a block down for dessert, which instantly washed away the terrible experience at Kino.
