Oakwood has a great menu for brunch and their egg bennys are absolutely tasty with their in-house ketchup. Their dinner menu, however, is a bit lackluster and really missing the flavors that I had when I first came here 3 years ago. My all time favorite would be their burger. So consistently tasty and filling! Food is still tasty and cooked well but portions were smaller than what I would have liked. Their ling cod and chicken skin is delicious, but the steak was a tougher cut. Staff is friendly and accommodating as well.

Friendly staff and the meals are I would say unique to this restaurant and tasty. Reasonably priced. Should really try their homemade hot sauce. Nothing like I've ever tasted

Very welcoming atmosphere. The brunch didn't quite turn out the way we expected, for instance, the braised beef shank was mixed in with the white beans instead of a whole piece. Overall the flavour was good and we had a really enjoyable time here.

One of my favorite restaurant. I was in love with the food and their creativity at my first time trying it. I got surprised from the food. Great atmosphere and service. They mainly serve sharing plates. Good for gathering with friends and food sharing. Definately will go back !

Loved the ambience. Creative sharing plates. Loved the taste of the warm kale salad and the presentation of the albacore tuna. The spaghetti had the creative touch of sweet pickled mushrooms. Service was friendly - good suggestions. Price is a bit high but this place is good for a special occasion.

Carrot cake jar vs rocky road jar from @theoakwood as a part of the @dineoutvanfest . . . I was tempted to get the carrot cake but wasn’t too sure about the cream cheese icing so went with the chocolate dessert instead. The rocky road jar basically reminded me of a delicious s’more on a beautiful summer night. When I stole a bite of that carrot cake though (yes my friends are cool), I was surprised by how light but still flavourful the cream cheese was. I honestly cannot choose between the two desserts. . Appy plus snack course at @theoakwood for @dineoutvanfest . . We had enough people to order all the appetizers and also the snack course. I also got cool friends who were willing to share the food with me, which meant that I got to try a little bit of everything. Gotta say while the rabbit croquettes were delicious, my favourite dish was still the salmon tartare. It was just fresh and delightful! I didn’t care as much about the crackers though. The beet salad was refreshing and the duck was also flavourful. . I used to think @theoakwood was just for brunches but clearly they got more to offer! . . Ling cod, short rib, spaghetti . . Besides the fact that all the mains were ridiculously filling, they were also all delicious in their own ways. I tried the ling cod and really liked the beans! The kale chips were a nice addition to the whole plate too for that extra texture. .

Dinner experience was wonderful; a nice warm day meant we could sit outside on the covered (glassed in) patio. The menu is set up with dishes from small to large and we started with fried chicken skins. It was nice and crunchy, not oily and nicely spiced. Next came the best dish of the night: warm kale salad. We would not normally order kale, but from the other reviews here we knew we had to try. And it was great! The kale and cauliflower was tasty, although towards the bottom of the bowl there was too much dressing and it was soggy. Next came the long cod and the pork belly. Both were OK, I'm not a big fan of the contrast between the pickled cabbage and the savory pork belly. The cabbage and pears were a bit too sharp compared with the rest of the dish.
