Owned and run by real Japanese. Small but clean. Service - 2/5 The waitress was friendly but it took them 20 minutes to send our appetizers out, and another 20 minutes for the sushi rolls. When we wanted to order more because we got so hungry from waiting, the waitress advised otherwise because it would take at least another 20 minutes for the food to come out. At least she was honest. Food - 2.5/5 Average. Ordered the Sunomono and was not impressed at all. The soft shell crab was extremely small (pictured). Ordered 6 different kind of sushi rolls and they were average. I don't think I would come back for the food. Price - 2/5 It's on the pricier side in my opinion. For the same price I could have gotten better quality/quantity from other sushi places around Vancouver.

Superb food, great value and service. Casual and friendly. Took crowd of hungry young guys here - and they all loved it. Second sushi resto visit in days and Toyko Thyme was the big winner ! HURRY though as they close at end of January 2018. Send them off with a wave of good feeling.

This place is a very nice, somewhat small shop that is Japanese owned. I had their house special sunomono and their zuke don. Service: 6/10 Price: 5/10 Actually a bit expensive. Honestly I would just go to sushi Mura. I keep recommending it. Food: 6/10 Sunomono 7 for half (3 pieces) The sunomono has been raved about but it's actually quite a peculiar taste. It's first of not a roll. Classically it is the noodles in a vinegary cold soup. Anyway the thyme flavor in it really threw me off. Zuke don 15 A lot of rice, almost no sashimi. The quality of the salmon was good but not phenomenal. Conclusion: For the price you can get way better sushi. I recommend Ajisai if you want something in the area and something quality. If you want more quantity but not much compromise on quality, Sushi Mura.

Nice people and nice decor, but the food was really expensive for a disappointing quantity. The rice wasn't seasoned much, and the filling was tiny. Just as an example, the California roll just had a few shreds of fish, and a tiny sliver of cucumber and avocado. Not a nice surprise when opening the containers at home when four hungry people are waiting.

Authentic Japanese cuisine, been coming here for over ten years. Consistent quality, excellent dashi broth. Does get busy with point grey crowd during the day time. I usually come here at night.

I ordered a spicy Salmon roll but got a spicy tuna roll. I asked them then and they remade it. Now this time with salmon but it's not spicy? The sushi is also super small compared to other sushi places in Vancouver and also super pricey.

If you're looking for average, plain and cheap - this isn't your place. The care in the ingredients and mixture made this place stand out to me. The salad had ½ of 3 different kinds of tomato, lemon zest and other mixture of flavor which made it a cut above the rest. It's priced more than many and certainly not the most, but you get what you pay for.
