Lisa is amazing! I highly recommend her! I have really curly and complicated hair (the top layer of my hair is more soft/wavy with the underneath being tight curls) - i hated getting my hair cut until i met Lisa because everyone would cut off the length. Lisa is the only one who has every truley listened to what i want... and she is so great at colouring!! She colours my hair so it looks great months later even when the original colour has faded. Price wise she's not cheap but there isnt a stylist who is that is Lisa's caliber that is cheap. I definitely am willing to pay for talent. Thanks Lisa!

I been going to this salon for around 2 years now and I have personally never had anything but a fantastic cut, colour and style. I have seen Victoria for cuts & more recently Stevie for cut & colour services. Stevie is the best hair stylist I have ever had. I have never felt more confident in a stylist's ability to execute my wishes. Feels good to know that EVERY TIME my hair will feel and look great. It's nice to be able to completely relax while going for a hair service and not having any anxious moments, like when you aren't sure on how it's going to turn out while someone is doing your service, or worse being totally underwhelmed/unhappy with the outcome. One time I wasn't completely satisfied with the way my highlights turned out, only to have Stevie respond with a 'come in right away and I will make it right for you ASAP', and unsurprisingly it turned out to perfect. Stevie also gives the best head/neck massages. I use the products they sell there, which are Bioesthetic (spelling?). Needless to say I will never change my hair salon. This is my first time doing an online review but I thought I might as well do one for Volume because they deserve it. Also the reception people are really pleasant, some clients don't really care about that part of it, but it means a lot to me to feel welcome.

Victoria is amazing, she knows what she’s doing, always listens to exactly what you want, and is honest with you about treatments, cuts, products etc. She has been doing my hair for years, and I’m always hesitant about hair dressers- having had some unpleasant experiences with hairdressers in the past. She is a very talented colourist, and always ensures your cut is exactly what you need. I truly wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair, and highly recommend her to anyone in need.

Love this salon and all the beautiful people in it. Greeted with hugs and warmth every time I come in - all of the staff is genuinely happy to see you, remembers the stories you last shared, and really make you feel like you're creating friendships. The styles are always on point and exactly what I was looking for - at a better price than anywhere else I've gone in Vancouver. Now that I've found the best salon, why go anywhere else?!

A gem in the west end. Well trained stylists, you're guaranteed a good cut, style, or dye here at competitive pricing.. definetly good value in the neighbourhood. The atmosphere is relaxed, breezy, and incredibly friendly. The proprietor is a respected leader in the community, and gives back through multiple charity events throughout the year. The receptionist really takes care of you- well above any service level you'd expect at this price range. An online booking system would be great, but the team at this salon really works hard to give EVERY guest genuine first class service with a personal touch.

If you like your hair at all DONT go to Marie... I went for a TRIM about a month ago and I'm still regretting it. she gave me the worst layers (that I didn't even ask for) and completely thinned out my already thin hair.

Three weeks ago I went to Volume to get my hair colored and a few inches off length off, I was booked with Marie. This was a nightmare experience and I am still terribly upset. First she said...thank you for understanding I can't color your hair today ! I had no idea what she was talking about, she said we called you...this was untrue, one of the hair stylist said to her, no that call was for another lady. I mistakenly allowed her to cut hair...I told her I had a neck injury so she wouldn't be so rough . We got to the chair she pushed my head down and would not allow me to put it back up the entire time, she cut my hair completely from behind??!! when she finally finished , to my horror she had cut my hair to a medium bob!!!! I was extremely clear that it was to go NO shorter then just past my shoulders LONG still but NOT short as I am active and wear it up most of the time . This has been the most horrifying experience .There is simply no redeeming qualities about Marie, she should not be permitted to handle scissors.

Sadly my experience at this studio was very bad. It's taken me a couple of months to post on here about it because I needed to calm down to write something coherent. I was looking for a new stylist and the owner of the studio recommended Kristopher Maxwell. Essentially he royally screwed up my hair to the point where I had to go to another salon on the same day to get it fixed. The owner wouldn't take any responsibility for this and neither would Kristopher. I understand we are all humans and make mistakes. Owning up to the mistake and trying to make real amends would have been the best course of action but neither Kristopher or the owners had any integrity to do this. For this reason, I will never return to Volume or recommend it to others.
