One of the oldest establishment in the port town. As the name suggests, it was established as a Seamen’s Store and was frequented by sailors from the port. Over the time now, it caters more to the locals than sailors. The name of the store; “Fujiya” is derived from the famous Japanese Mount Fujiyama. The owner explained that nearly three decades ago, a lot many Japanese sailors visited his store for exclusive handicrafts and inlay marquetry wall plates. Hence he decided to adopt a name derived from Japan. This place sells exclusive handicrafts items made from best quality RoseWood and also has original Sandalwood items, marble and soft stone items, precious and semi-precious gemstones and silver jewellery as well. The wall panels made using marquetry and inlay are one of the best products available here and its the ONLY place in the whole of Goa who sells it. It’s one of a kind store in the Vasco City and I will definitely recommended a visit to this place if you are visiting this small little port town !
