Great family-owned company. Treating their employees exceptionally well and work and live up to their values. VELUX cares a lot about its role in society and contribution e.g. to climate change and environmental protection.

I have used Velux windows for around forty years now for Local Authority works Private works and even my own home, with very little issue and write this in frustration as an effort to obtain some assistance with a specific problem - with Velux in the UK. Quality: on quality they are deservedly the market leaders. Price: high but not unreasonable. Responsiveness: not so good. We have a Velux Long Light installed at a school in Leeds, England which is frought with problems. It was designed with the Velux Engineers; installed by a Velux approved installer, but the installation as a whole leaks enough to fill a Danish Fjiord. Punctuality - both of the ill fitting Long Light windows were delivered on time!. Overall: This is a complex scenario starting with a design failure and then a second design failure because of poor site measurement. The Velux design gave us a 25 degree pitch. The first installation did not take place as the windows were some 300mm too long. The second attempt was re-measured and has also failed. The Velux itself is up to par, but the installation, by a Velux approved installer failed because the windows simply did not fit at the correct pitch. The windows have been installed at 3.8 degrees pitch - below the minimum standard of 5 degrees - the only way they would physically fit in, but creating problems at the draining edge. Our contractor has been trying to get this sorted out for several months but despite it being their design which does not work, Velux in the UK are distancing themselves from it. Their initial response was fair and they replaced the windows, then second response was no more than a damage limitation exercise. Now there is no response at all. We, representing the School and Leeds City Council are left with an installation which survives by a sheet of polythene covering it over. Not good! Perhaps someone at Velux Horsholm could give someone at Velux UK some advice on Customer Service?
