We spent 10 days at The Lake in June - what a fabulous place to stay. Bedroom was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Carol and Richard and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, with breakfast to look forward to each morning. The hotel was spotlessly clean. So glad we found this hotel made our stay on the island magnificent.

We stayed for a long weekend and had the best holiday in years! The true character of a classic Country House with excellent rooms...beautifully furnished lounges and just the most stunning sub-tropical gardens. If you want a gorgeously romantic holiday, this is the best place yet!! Don't take my word for it....discover it for yourself.\ufeff
The most amazing secret on the Isle of Wight. I loved staying in this lovely hotel! I found the whole place so restful, and beautiful, house and garden both. Richard and Carol have a little gem here.
'The welcome was very friendly and the staff were always helpful ' at this good sized seaside accommodation close to the seafront (five minutes' walk). It is run on unashamedly traditional lines by owner Richard & Carol Wyatt. Our room was lovely with a powerful shower in the ensuite and nice big towels. The house was kept beautifully clean. The breakfast is also good, the buffet and cooked breakfast being prepared by the owners. 2 lounges, bar with terrace, conservatory. 2-acre subtropical grounds: Pebble and Sandy beach nearby (hilly walk). Good food at the Bonchurch Inn up the road. We thought the Lake was great value.

Was not greeted in the best manner, was not shown to the room, dress code for breakfast!, room was no where near worth its asking price of 86, it was: small , no views out of windows, drafty especially round the windows, some room decor from 1980's?, tv laughable good size but only a handfull of channels at best, wi-fi poor, seemed all about its wonderful grounds not anything else, If you want to sit in a garden all day its a good choice, if you are travelling around or just want a bed for 1 night or just somewhere to crash its not for me. Way to stuck up an overpriced.
Rude people, dirty sheets, small room, high prices and francophobe! Avoid!
