You cannot ski, pass through or visit the Val Di Sole without a visit at Forte Strino! This museum isn't just a gorgeous mid 19th century Austro-Hungarian fort, but it also holds many a WWI treasure recovered from the frontlines, mountains and glaciers. Very well kept and well explained, it is also worth visiting for its incredible views over the valley and mountain peaks. There is a great hiking path which connects all the main WWI forts of the area - a way to live the history and the nature altogether.

Very nice old fort from WW1, closed when we visited (Wednesday) in the middle of the day. Not sure of opening times bit well worth a walk around. Plus very fresh water at the name sake stream round the corner :-)
So interesting!
Open at summer only. Too bad.
