When the heat pump in our Armstrong home quit working, we had a nearby contractor diagnose it as needing a new compressor. Due to the age of the system we decided to contact three companies for quotes on replacing the heat pump portion of the furnace. The folks at Applewood Heating and Air Conditioning responded fast and were very easy to talk to. They were also the only company that took the extra time to do a heat load calculation on our home to insure the new equipment would be sized for optimal efficiency. They provided detailed quotes and quickly answered all of our questions about the various options available. We felt very comfortable choosing Applewood Heating and Air Conditioning because of their great communication, honesty, professional workmanship, value, punctuality, and follow up quality control plan.

Woke up to -16c weather and our furnace not working. I talked to Pam on the phone at 7:30am. She took our booking and had a repairman (Glen L.) at our door by 9am. It took Glen about 2 minutes to determine why the furnace wasn't working and start doing the repairs. Glen also took the time to do a quick maintenance check which resulted in him cleaning a part that is necessary for continued good operation to ensure I won't be calling them back in the near future. With their computer system Glen was able to review our file on his tablet prior to starting work so he was well aware of the furnace's history. Applewood did the furnace install 20 years ago, the air conditioning (a couple of years later), & hot water tank (4 years ago) and has maintained them all since installation. 10:00am, a mere 2.5 hours after my call, Glen had completed the repairs and was on his way to the next call. The best part (other than having a working furnace) was the bill was more than reasonable. I don't usually do reviews and I don't usually recommend businesses to anyone. I will make an exception to that rule for Applewood. If I need any work done in the future they'll be my company of choice and if someone asks I will be giving them a two thumbs up reference. Thanks Pam and Glen for the excellent work and thanks to Applewood for the more than fair price for the work done.

Over the years we have had a number of furnace repair people look into our concerns that our forced air furnace was not working properly with excessive use of electricity, poor on/of cycling and inability to maintain heat levels during cold periods. Glen arrive the next morning after we called and he identified a problem that apparently existed at the time of installation 16 years ago which mean the furnace was working at 50% capacity all this time. Glen was friendly, professional, competent, efficient and very knowledgeable. Such a nice surprise compared to other vendors that we have used in the past.

The nexr day someone came to inspect the work and ensure all was running properly and gave instruction for maximum operation.
