I arrived late at night to make a National Express connection & found it to be most unwelcoming & frequented by rough sleepers & alcoholics. I am 6' & able to take care of myself but I would fear for the safety of those not so able. Altho' well dressed, & with luggage as I waited to board my coach I was approached by a local church social help team who asked me if I was OK & if I needed any help……..well it was dark !! I see National Express have now relocated to Plymouth Coach Stn……..

Bretonside Bus Station has for too long been the dirtiest part of Plymouth and for a tourist and shopper gateway really needs some serious attention and a more welcoming look. Despite no smoking signs everywhere almost everyone who smokes does so with a blatant disregards for others. The stink of urine and puke is a disgrace.
Probably the best bus stand in the area. A masterpiece of angular design
I have to use this place to catch the National Express coach to Heathrow, this place is an absolute disgrace it smells like a public convenience full of the local riff raff (rough sleepers & alcoholics) looks shabby with peeling paint and plaster. I would not consider if possible anything to eat or drink here, what visitors think about their first view and smell of Plymouth must be awful.
Not a great first impression of Plymouth. Needs alot of updating, though the people are nice.
