I have never required a root canal before and my only thought was one of a painfully dreadful procedure. I can honestly say my experience was furthest from that. The front office immediately put my nerves at easy with the bright space, fresh coffee, and tranquil vibe. Once in the procedural room I was surprised with silence that only a small office can bring. No clients in additional chairs, no sounds of instruments whining, no clatter of doors and chairs etc. Dr. Owatz explained the procedure and we discussed my anxiety all while he spoke in a non-judgmental calm voice. I was surprised and oddly relieved when I was offered a headset to watch a movie while the procedure was conducted. I can go on. In all, this is why you go to a specialist even though regular dentist are capable of the procedure. State of the art equipment, specialty knowledge and training, and an experience only years in the business can teach.

I was referred to this office by my regular dentist solely because my dentist was going on vacation and I had a possible root canal situation. I was warned by my dentist's office that they charge upfront and what the cost would be for my initial consultation, so I was prepared for that. I was recommended for a root canal and they managed to book me in the following week. However, I was not informed until AFTER the root canal procedure was done that the cost was 1500 and I was expected to pay right then. If I had been informed at my consultation, as I was supposed to have been, I would have waited for my own dentist, as I was not in that much discomfort. Now I have a huge fight on my hands because these guys didn't do their job and I don't have 1500. Not happy.

Excellent experience. I was apprehensive about a root canal with complications, but am glad I followed the treatment advice of Dr. Owatz and his team. To any others worried about a procedure using "sedation dentistry" (as opposed to IV/general), I can say that I did not feel any discomfort during the procedure - was barely even aware of anything, and recovered rapidly afterwards. I hope your procedure will be as positive as mine. Thanks to Dr. Owartz (Brett), Teresa and Shelby.
