These guys are scum bags. They use a modified version of the 17c formula for their diminished value estimates. The base formula only applied to one specific case. Don't accept its output as the diminished value for your vehicle. Their formula doesn't take into account comparable vehicles. Nick Gawthorp handles the diminished value claims. Nick will refuse to disclose the basic factors that go into their formula or any facts on the company that they have licensed their diminished value "model" from. Nick will also pretend that they are engaging in an arm's length transactions which couldn't be further from the truth as Vehicle Valuation Services only works with insurance companies. He will be disrespectful and dismissive if you ask him to explain how they arrived at their diminished value amount. I asked for specific parts that were included in their "exempt parts" category and he refused to provide it as well. He would also not confirm whether that would impact the value of their estimate. They will place your vehicle into incorrect categories and play with their ratings on your repairs and/or vehicle to reach a predetermined amount of diminished value which is always favorable to the insurance company vs. truly independent 3rd parties. If Liberty Mutual uses this service, you will have to take your case to small claims court or another court if the amount is large enough. Do not waste your time negotiating as they will not negotiate in good faith nor will they explain how their black box comes up with absurdly low diminished value amounts.
