Choreographers and dancers Airida Gudaitė and Laurynas Žakevicius established the company Low Air in 2012 as the first urban dance theatre in Lithuania. They aim is to uncover the artistic potential of street dance and introduce it to theatre lovers everywhere. In the of 2017 Vilnius city municipality announced Low Air as the official Vilnius city dance theatre. The company is two times winner of the prestigious Lithuanian theatre award Golden Stage Cross. Dancer Laurynas Žakevičius has nomination for the Best Dancer of the Year award. The creative duo - Airida & Laurynas - honoured with the Borisas Dauguvietis Earring award for both the successful research and development of a new stage forms connecting urban dance and theatre and for the pedagogical work which changes a face of Lithuanian contemporary dance. The troupe has award by Lithuanian Contemporary Dance Association (as the Best Choreographic Work of the year of 2016). The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuanian awarded Airida Gudaitė and Laurynas Žakevicius with the National award given to Young Creators (2017). The troupe is touring around the world, presenting their work in various international contemporary art festivals (Edinburgh Fringe, Gogolfest, Beijing New Dance Festival, One Dance Week festival), introducing viewers to Lithuanian contemporary dance at the different stages in Israel, France, Germany, Italy, Iceland and etc. Low Air is an active member of the residency program, both - as members at the Arts Printing House (Vilnius) and as hosts at the international residency at Low Air Dance School.
