Imagine yourself strolling these beautiful grounds in the late 1800s. How idyllic a setting. Ships passing through. Accents from far away locales. The grounds and home are open for visits and have interesting information about the former inhabitants and their lives. Easily accessible by public transportation and by bike. The Westvliet runs at the back of the home. This is often the site for reenactments and is occasionally used for sculpture displays.

Constatijn Huygens was a golden age poet who thought The Hague was too crowded and built a wonderful place in Voorburg. It has a very big garden in the form of the human body and a lovely little house surrounded by water.
The gardens are well maintained, and so is the interior. The museum is not big, but very interesting nonetheless. Very kid-friendly as well.
Great place to visit. Get an impression of how Huygens and his family lived in their summerhouse.
Well maintained gardens to walk through. A nice history of the Huygens family.
Beautiful area to stroll and a nice house where famous Dutchmen Christiaan and Constateyn Huygens have lived.
It's relatively small and there are no indications to where you can go into the house which is quite fun to see in the middle of a pond. It's a bit empty too. I would recommend to visit it later in the year for the garden.
Amazing place that is rich of historical facts around the scientific revolution of the Golden Era of the Dutch republic. The tour guides are passionate about their job and are quite knowledgeable regarding the topics covered in the tour. I highly recommend this place for a day out and the nearby park to the West for a relaxing walk after the tour.
