After a traumatic head wound inflicted by horse hoof, we arrived (as complete newbies to the area, to find it clearly marked out. Outside was clean and well lit as it was fairly dark on arrival. Security guards in cubicle at entrance could be more helpful. Once in the trauma reception, we were helped within 5 min by helpful security and admin staff members. See through to trauma doctors before File was even opened. Two Cuban exchange doctors assisted. Language was no problem. Hospital is clean, well organised and calm. ALL STAFF FRIENDLY, and every possible injury was assessed and diagnosed. Stitches were administer to face and ear with clean and new equipment. Learning staff stood at respectable distance. What a surprisingly good experience after hearing many horror stories of government hospitals.

It was my first time at Vredenburg Provincial hospital and it was a very surreal feeling. Being a public hospital I expected to wait hours on end, deal with lazy staff and bad service. It was the complete opposite, the staff were helpful and friendly, the hospital was clean and they were extremely efficient which is refreshing . I hope the service remains top class and that I wasn't just lucky today.

Has got to be the best Public hospital that I have ever experienced, the staff is friendly if your are friendly. The ambulance service also very quick to respond takes about 15 minutes and I have experienced the services enough time to give them 5 stars without hesitation. There's a female doctor in the Maternity ward, Shes the best. I have seen Public hospitals where they have no beds for patients and patients are waiting in passages. Im glad to say this hospital is NOT one of those.

If I could give zero stars I would....The worst, they simply don't care. Waited 2 hours with a 9 months baby with no one caring to attend to her.

Has to be one of the worst hospitals I've come across. The ER is constantly packed and you have to sit there in agonizing pain for hours to wait for unfriendly staff who is prominently disinterested in whatever pain you're in and how far from the hospital you stay. Also, they hand you over AFTER ONLY RECEIVING A BILL SIX MONTHS AFTER YOUR INITIAL VISIT. Pathetic. Neverminded. Rude. Unsympathetic.

Must be one of the worst hospitals in South Africa my experience with them has been terrible it almost like that just work there as a job just to get paid not actually care for the patients every time i went to there is patients complaining and no nurses or sister to be seen my father was literally falling of his bed to go to the toilet to get sick and when i went to go call the nurse they all laughing and having loud conversation on their cellphones not a care in the world my fathers conditions went from bad to worse after having 6 doctors who are probably come from a mickey mouse club cause they all have different opinions and no answers giving my father medication for conditions they have not run test for to actually confirm what he has i have basically moved him from that useless hospital cause they don't care it is just a job to them my father is literally dying from lack of food and water and they making no effort to help any of those other patients lying there they do not even bother to phone me to say my fell and broke his and hand only to discover this when i got there with his hand bandaged completely with bruising all over and that he was tied down to the bed
