I was lucky enough to see Vezelay before the scaffolding went up. It was a highlight of my trip. The history surrounding the area and the abbey specifically is really interesting. I loved the lore surrounding it and the stories about May Magdalene. It felt like a hike to get up there but it was well worth the hill.

An amazing church undergoing extensive renovation. You have the opportunity to see the renovation of the facade up close but only 18 people at a time are allowed to go up the scaffolding. The crypt underneath the church had what looked to be a relic(possibly a bone) from Marie Madeleine.

A worthy UNESCO world heritage site as well as a beautiful ancient town. Easily explored on foot and well worth navigating the side alleys as well as the main route. Point to note. There are parking places all around the town, as well as side road parking. It is obligatory to pay and place a ticket in your screen, regardless where you park.

Nice Monastery in a small typical village in the middle of France. Worth to visit and spend one night. It can be romantic
