Today, my wife and daughter (they are Asian) had a horrible experience at Jumbo. While my wife was trying to proceed to the check out, the cashier literally kicked open the cash counter and called us over as the one next was busy. They were startled but but still continued. My wife put the whole basket on to the belt instead of the items one by one as she felt shocked by the behaviour. The cashier seemed angry and asked my wife aggressively to not do that next time. My wife absolutely understood and apologised. What was not acceptable was when the cashier rudely pushed the items away and threw a bag towards my daughter. We dont know if the cashier just happened to be in a bad mood, but this is her work and she should be professional about it! When they started to walk out, they heard the next customer (A white male) being greeted very friendly by the same cashier! At that time, they felt so discriminated against. Is it because my wife did not put the items on the belt correctly or because she is Asian?! Even if the answer isnt because of my wife's race, she still felt very humiliated infront of everyone; and the way the cashier kicked the gate was mishandeling and disrespecting the Jumbo company's property.

Great selection of products, friendly staff, good prices and lots of parking. Well lit store, and easy to navigate for a stranger in town too! (Contrary to other reviews my credit card worked with no issues here).
They have all kinds of stuff here for your groceries, fresh produce, quality meat, a good assortment of pretty much everything you need for a good meal. Fresh bread daily as well. And all that for some of the best prices around.
Good place for quick and easy shopping. Good selection on most items.
