This 4 mile trail is an easy hilke and drier than most trails on Kauai. It offers amazing vistas and a great view of the Nāpali Canyon.

Great intermediate hike. It would probably be a little slick if it rained before your visit. If you have a 4x4 vehicle there's a path you can take down to a parking area on the trail so you skip the hardest part. We did the hard part and would still recommend.
If you don’t have an AWD vehicle, park in the pullout across the road and walk down the road to the Canyon/Black Pipe trailhead. Skip the bushwack of the Cliff Trail and just use the road. Nice, easy hike down to Waimea Canyon views and Waipo’o Falls
Wonderful view. Quick hike. Some very active chicken looking for food. We got them some breadcrumbs and they ran to us to eat.
It was rainy and very wet when we did this trail, so it was slippery and muddy. The canyon is very pretty, if you can get it when its clear
Friends enjoyed the loop was an easy to moderate hike. We worked our way across the canyon vista trail and down to two small falls and to the edge of a 600 foot falls. Priceless beauty every step..
Lots of switchbacks and nearing the waterfall the trail gets steep. No guard rails but a very wide path at the more dangerous areas. Absolutely beautiful hike and the waterfall is very refreshing. Highly recommend this hike.
Park here to access the Waimea Canyon Trail instead of in the Waimea Canyon Trail parking lot (which is about a quarter mile south of this one). The walk down the 4x4 vehicle road to the Waipo’o Falls parking lot is actually more scenic and less muddy than taking the “New Spur Trail” from the Waimea Canyon Trail parking lot. Then take the short jaunt to the cliff view trail (nice views) or continue south on the Canyon Trail to Waipo’o Falls. Don’t drive down to the Waipo’o Falls parking lot unless you have a serious 4x4 off road vehicle.
