We have to come back and explore more. Absolutely astounding. Loved every second of our exploration.

If you are seeking paradise on earth, Kohala Forest Reserve, located on the northern side of The Big Island of Hawaii, might just be the place you have been searching for. Nestled away in the most lush, untouched part of the island, you will be treated with the tranquility of Mother nature at her finest. Be prepared to hike up and down rough terrain for a couple of hours, but it is well worth it. I have traveled all over the world but there is something about this place that leaves you mesmerized. Kohala Forest is a must see!

Such a beautiful hike! It took us about half a day. I suggest you eat lunch in your car so you don't have to carry it with you all the way down and then back up again in your stomach. There's not a lot of parking but the view is totally worth it. If you have young or old people with you, perhaps only go half way down. There are still some great views before you reach the bottom.

Great hike. Please respect the aina (land) stay on the trails and pack out your rubbish. Gorgeous spot on earth.

Great little hike. Wear shoes! Can be a little slippery at the beginning. Amazing views! Beach is all rocks, no sand and not good for swimming.
