A great hiking trail. Highly recommended. It takes about 3 hours from Koke'e Lodge to the end of the trail (if you are a photographer like me ;-) ) Don't forget to take enough water with you!

Great hike! Save some energy for the way back as the return from the coast back to the trail head has a lot of vertical steps. Take plenty of water and pack snacks or a lunch! The views are worth the physical challenge.
Worth the effort! Highly recommend to combine it with Awa'awapuhi Vista. Use the Nu'alolo Cliff trail to connect.
Great trail with awesome view at the end. Brutal hike back ascending 2000 feet. If it's been raining a lot, it would be wise to give it at least a day or two to dry out.
This trail will keep you in the bush for about 3 miles but rewards you with an unforgettable view of the Na Pali coast. This trail has an option to hike 2 more miles north to catch a connecting trail to give you even more great views. Pack plenty of supplies as doing the loop can put you at about 15 miles round trip back to your car. However, this trail is only 3.5 miles out and the same back.
We did this hike as a loop of the Nu'alolo, Nu'alolo Cliffs and Awa'awapuhi trails so I have posted the same review and photo on each of these. We did the loop in that order, finishing with the slightly easier Awa'awapuhi trail. All three trails are well maintained and easily navigable and the views at the overlooks at the end of each trail are spectacular. Neither trail is particularly difficult, just regular hiking trail, although some sections of the Nu'alolo trail can be a bit steep and may be slippery in wet weather. The entire loop took us just over five and a half hours, including stops at the look out points and the 2 mile walk back down the road to the Nu'alolo parking lot. You get to walk through varying terrain and ecosystems, from tropical rain forest to dry grass land and arid, rocky out croppings overlooking the Nā Pali coast. Highly recommend this hike!
A spectacular view of the canyon and along the Na'pali coast. One of the best views in the world.
Intermediate hike I would say. Light trafficked and mostly shady. Perfect for a day hike with a dog and without the crowds. You're not gonna have any trouble if you're an active hiker.
