This place has good history. You can read more about it online. Nice to walk around. A short walk from the church building (with graffiti) is the cemetery where the patients were buried. Good hiking trails around. Free parking in the parking lot. Small grass area for a picnic too.

This place is so eerily enchanting. Not only is the history extremely interesting, but the campus is so large. I absolutely loved exploring the areas around all buildings, reading the poetry on the walls, and taking photos. Lots of people were there with their dogs as it is a great place to come without leashing them. Also people brought their kids to run around or families to have picnics! Overall you should definitely visit if you’re from MA or New England.
So glad I got to explore this place when there was so much more to it. I used to sneak-in around 2am into the main utility/electric building and then access the tunnels foe the rest of the grounds through there. You think it’s creepy now, should’ve seen this place 15 years ago...
Not much left to see. Just one building left by the park and parking lot. It's a pretty building with vines on it and a tower. There's a big hole in the cinder blocks right next to the front door that is easy to climb through. Not much left inside. Some desks and graffiti. You can climb to the tower using a mostly sturdy ladder in there.
This place is awesome old buildings!
