Situated on its own island, connected to the village of Rieshofen by a wooden bridge and a short distance from the Altmühl cycle path, is this interesting Roman watchtower. It was built during the second century and formed part of the frontier system of fortifications known as the Limes Germanicus. A reconstruction of fort Ventoniana to which this tower may have reported to, is on the opposite side of the valley at Pfünz.

Ein wundervoll idyllischer Ort! Auch mit dem Kanu zu erreichen..

Super Ausstieg Möglichkeit bei Altmühl Kanu Fahrt. Sitzplätze und Tische vorhanden, Mülleimer auch. Leider kein WC, deswegen ein Stern weniger. Schöner Platz zum Pause machen!
