Amazing place, especially for those interesting radio astronomy or space communications

Oh my god what a trip. You need to go there on a fine day with clear skies with no moon, best time is 12am. We saw a galaxy just like the ones I saw on movies. I want to go there again even though it's a 50mins drive. Highly recommend it to everyone

I haven't been in since I was a kid, but the skies outside are far enough outside the city to get some decent astrophotography done!

A nice place to practice your astrophotography skills around Auckland. The light pollution is not bad, comparing to other areas around the city. Be aware the traffic is relatively busy, which the light might spoil your long exposure. Apply bug spray/cream on you before you come here. Also, the entrance is at the motorway, so please be extra careful when you try to stop and turn.

Great place to take photo

Great place time visit, amazing technology. Not open to the public so you'll need to get your astronomy or radio club to arrange a club visit.
