Ive telephoned three times now, and spoken to two people who were charming, friendly and helpful... BUT nothing has come of it!! They say that they are very busy because of the current situation, but I would much rather they were honest and said that they simply have too much work to take any more! The first time I rang a nice guy took all my details and said that Bob would ring me the next day to arrange collection. He didn't ring, so a couple of days later I rang again. Bob answered and eventually found the piece of paper that his colleague had left for him with my details. We arranged a date and time for collection. This time came and went with no appearance from Blades, so I rang again. Eventually they found the piece of paper with my details on, and then said that they would collect it later that evening. Guess what - they didnt turn up! There is no excuse for making promises that are not kept. Its possible they might be brilliant at working on mowers - but the words which spring to mind include \breweries\ and \booze-ups\.

Been using blades for a few years now, Bob is always pleasant and honest. My first experience was with a used Stihl strimmer. Bob found the faults on the 4/2 stroke machine and fixed them it did cost as much as the 2nd hand strimmer had cost initially but overall worked out a good deal the machine served me well for 14 months til it was nicked. I bought a brand new mower off them which had an issue in starting after just a few weeks, Bob found this to be the carburettor / choke and it was fixed under warranty very quickly. I was out mowing again the next day. The same mountfield stopped rolling and after Bob stripped it down it was a stone inside a sealed roller so who knows how it got inside, he fixed that and we found the bill to be reasonable for the time taken to repair it. The job did take a few days but we knew how many machines were already in the workshop. Our chipper broke down and we thought it was the blade that had broken but it was the disc that the blades attached to broken in half. My partner had stripped the machine down already so we knew it was lengthy to get inside of the machine. Bob worked hard and had exceeded his opening hours, he repaired and rebuilt the chipper after welding and balancing was completed the bill was very competitive. Most of our machinery was nicked during lockdown, but I will not be hesitating to use Blades mowers again. Friendly staff, good service, reliable repairs, value for money. Terrible Customer Service - Avoid this place. How this runs as a business is a mystery. If you call the proprietor he doesn't seem to know what he's working on, whether he should be collecting or returning. I called for a quote on my old petrol mower, it just needed a yearly service. But he couldn't give me a cost over the phone, not even an estimate. Then he didn't turn up on the day he should to collect it and when I called him he asked for the address again. Then he told me it would be a two week turn around. I called for an update after week and half only to be told ot started that one yet\. I all seems messy and a bit 'hit and miss'. Update: the service is complete and when I called and asked what the final cost would be, it turned out to be more than I paid for the mower off Ebay. He did work I hadn't authorized him to do ......... beware of this company
