Five of us went to Menokin to paddle our kayaks in Menokin Bay and upstream Cat Point Creek. We spent about five hours on the water. Very nice place to paddle and we all enjoyed the trip. However, if Menokin wants to attract paddlers, I suggest that their governing board find monies to upgrade the boat launch in order to facilitate entering and exiting the water. A floating dock and kayak launch similar to the one at Mallows Bay in Charles County, Maryland would make getting in and out of the water much easier. Me thinks it would a very good investment.

It's a great place to go to learn about our history, not just about the Lee family but the architect of the home and levels of ground built.

Accidentally found this place while out geocaching. It is simply amazing.

Very informative about a subject I am just learning about.

Fascinating information about the preservation of one of America's landmarks of a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Francis Lighthouse Lee.

An interesting set of ruins whose preservation is developing over time. Go now and go later to see what they've done.

This place is essentially an active archeological site right here in the Northern Neck of VA. I appreciate what they are attempting to achieve by allowing this historic site to remain ruins.

Great small park. Even offering kayak rentals later this summer
