Aikido Maine

This dojo is one of the most beautiful dojo’s you could imagine. For many years it was Saotome sensei’s home. Their are great teachers and humans And you will be well taken care of. If you are in the area and are interested in the martial arts or Aikido this would be an awesome place.

The richness of the martial arts knowledge of the Shobukan community is perhaps only met by its warm and friendly nature. From some of the top aikido teachers to advanced martial arts practitioners to former special services officers to 65 year old rank beginners to teenagers to 5 year old children, the Dojo has a place for everyone. The Dojo offers close to 40 hours of classes/mat time per week, including the BEST kids program of any martial arts school that I have seen.

Beautiful Dojo a short walk from the Takoma metro station. They have classes every day of the week, and on most days multiple classes. The instructors and experienced students are very helpful and patient for those who are new. I would recommend observing first to see if it is for you. I am really enjoying it so far. I found this was exactly what I was personally looking for, though it may not be right for everyone.
