I placed 2 Boston Terriers on Atlas Air via the Patriot Express (rotator) from Ramstein to BWI 28 Jan 21, and not only were my dogs boarded 2 1/2 earlier than departure (supposed to be an hour), one of my dogs tragically died during the flight. I did not find this out until almost 10 1/2 hours of being separated from them, and one poor worker who drew the short stick and had to be the one to tell me when I came up to baggage looking for my dogs. Among the chaos, the person who told me was the only one of any help, though he was clearly not prepared for this. Some “manager” spoke to me on the phone and only asked if my dogs had health issues (they were cleared 2 days prior) and that was it. No investigation, no offer to look into it, basically “well this happens, sorry”?! Then the only helpful worker mentioned retrieved a number for a nearby cremation service...that was closed. I was fortunate enough to have family nearby, but considering the amount of military families that transit through BWI, this situation would have been even worse for those with no family-they will not receive support from Atlas or AMC. I pray this doesn't happen to someone else. The grief, stress, and pain this has caused is one reason it has taken me over a month to write this review and share my experience.

Coming back home from deployment. No onboard entertainment. When we left Germany and got to Baltimore the pilots was to tired to fly another hour to Pope airfield. 100 plus soldiers are an hour away from seeing their families again but Atlas Air has failed us. Never fly Atlas Air. They didn’t even have back up pilots.
