Valentine’s Day plans allowed us to discover this gem. First off, we were rushing and already late so I felt terrible walking in, but the person that greeted us inside was so sweet and put at ease. Luckily we had no trouble seating our reservation. The entire space is gorgeous. The lighting, theme, decorations, vibe, colors. “Agi” (she’s Hungarian and has been with Chez for a long time... ask for her) was super knowledgeable and SO FUNNY. Very sweet. We ordered a bottle, martinis, French onion soup, duck pâté, salmon, sea bass, and dessert. I would take up entirely too much space if I went on about the food but I’ll say it was one of the best meals we’ve had in DC. Can’t wait to come back.

Our return to Chez Billy Sud was even better than we could have imagined. The Scottish Salmon is one of the best dishes in D.C. The aroma of the dish is wonderful and breaking the crisp potato crust on top of the salmon is reminiscent of breaking the brulee on top of the creme brulee. The bistro burger and frites were wonderful as well. The impeccable service and beautiful environs top off the dining experience. We dined in the fireplace room, which couldn't have been more welcoming and warm.
I like to go with friends to this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The the food there is appetizing and the crew is efficient and cooperative. always when we visit this place we enjoy a cheerful evening. warmly recommended.
Our meal started slow. It was my luck to request a fine bottle of champagne that was one of only two bottles on the wine menu that they did not have in stock. Our server Cameron didn’t quite know how to handle that. So our appetizers showed up quickly with no wine on the table. It wasn’t a showstopper but it was a slow start to the meal. The food is well conceived and thoughtfully prepared. I really liked my sea bass and the salmon was equally delicious We had an excellent evening overall. And Cameron rebounded to provide fine service. We’ll be back.
The best restaurant in dc as far as I’m concerned; charming, cozy, delicious food and fantastic service. This place never disappoints. I cannot say enough good things about Chez Billy! My go to spot for special occasions, or just a fabulous meal.
