Extremely good food. Tried the cauliflower buffalo wings, fritter sandwich, and fried artichoke sandwich. All fantastic. Fresh ingredients and very well made. Brand new clean interior and friendly staff. Nice open air front porch as well. Highly highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I tried this place yesterday. The folks there are super nice! We ordered a meatball sub, chickpea cutlet club, and a couple of desserts. I'll start with the good...the meatball sub was DELICIOUS!! I saw that another reviewer here believed the sandwich to be bland. I think the restaurant took the comment to heart because the sub that I had was full of flavor, and hands down the one of the best meatballs I've had (vegan or otherwise). The bread wasn't toasted, but I like my sandwich bread soft, so it was perfect for me. The olive oil cake was also really tasty! It wasn't overly sweet, and had some interesting/unique garnishes that really complimented the cake. Now, the not so good. The chickpea cutlet was sadly quite rubbery/gum-like. It was very difficult to get down, and ultimately we couldn't finish it for that reason. Perhaps there was a bit of a mix-up in the kitchen and too much of a certain binder was added to this batch? Not sure if we'd order that again, but would return on the strength of the meatball sub!

Fantastic new vegan spot in DC. The “calamari” had great flavor and was a nice portion. The meaty sub was a great sandwich and the Caesar salad was also terrific. Cannot wait to go back and continue to try the rest of the menu.

DC Vegan rocks! Love this new restaurant and so glad they fill in the mix of vegan DC places to eat. The sandwiches are very large so was able to share a fried artichoke sandwich and potato skins. Both were delicious. Welcome to the neighborhood. We will be back often.

What an excellent, conveniently-located new vegan place in DC! So far, I have tried and loved the Meaty Bowl, and the delicious cannoli. Looking forward to returning and trying more items from the awesome and varied menu!

This place is awesome! This is not just vegan food, it is high quality delicious takes on classics hat happen to be vegan. The meatball sub had incredible flavor, the king trumpet calamari with parm really took me back to my preveg days. And the cannolis!! It makes sense that these this longstanding catering business could expand and immediately start putting out food at this caliber. I can’t wait to go back!(Side story - a rascal-y cicada flew into the shop and the employees gently captured and released it back outside. These are my kinda people!)
