Had brunch here with friends. The Korean chicken wings are crispy and delicious, but the sauce is a balsamic base, that is not Korean fried chicken. However it's still delicious. Fried chicken Benedict was yummy. It's what Lipitor was made for. Grits were cheesy and rich. The deviled eggs were super creamy. Service was good! If you want liter options go with the omelet on simple waffle.

Most of the food was delicious! Watermelon salad had no dressing and we had to ask for the mint that was supposed to be in it. Server suggested getting the taco with the fried chicken which we will try next time
The fried chicken thighs for the Chicken and Waffles was not seasoned well enough (mixed into the batter). The flavor was good for the parts that had more batter. The chicken was also slightly overcooked. The waffles were good though. The duck sausage patties were dry (Perhaps they are supposed to be that way?). Did not particularly like it. Would recommend against it. If you order it, have a glass of water standing by. Had ordered the grits for my girlfriend and asked for them without [cheddar] cheese. It wasn't until after the rest of the order came out when the waiter notified us. We should have been notified when the order was put in...not after. I'd give the restaurant another chance since this was my first visit. For now I'll give the restaurant an average review. Edible food, not bad, and nothing special.
Please know that you can make a reservation here and you may want to on a Saturday morning. I was very pleased with breakfast here. The food was so good and portions were very filling. This is one of the very few places that my children can eat and are unable to complete their meal from being so full. The atmosphere was so cool, service was great, and everyone was friendly.
As its name said, go for fried chicken with no hesitation! Well done but juicy fried checken with a good twist of having some herbs in the mix, may be tarragon? Tried summer blend salad, cold soup and mule of the Rooster cocktail. Worth trying! Will go back!
The evening we visited there happened to be a social media influencers event going on, which meant it was loud and lively. The staff did a great job of finding us a nice quiet table away from the action and provided superb service despite the large crowd. The food was fantastic, the wine selection was strong and the atmosphere really is great.
Woa!! Fried Chicken Paradise. This place is a must while in DC. Awesome ambiance, great service, and the chicken....oh man that chicken! The buttermilk chicken and waffles are truly amazing and pairing that with an old fashioned cocktail was the right move. This is also a family friendly place as they offer cocoa puffs as a snack before your food arrives. Winning!
I went to The Bird for a late Saturday brunch. Being a fairly new restaurant, the decor was vibrant and modern with a theme revolving around birds. It seemed like a pretty chill spot to hang out and eat brunch with menu items themed around chicken. For brunch I started off with a create-your-own sangria which was mostly ice, but contained tasty fruits and a smidgen of wine. For about 34 for a "pitcher" which turned out to be a carafe, it barely squeaked out enough to fit 4 lowball glasses that had already been filled with fruits. Definitely way overpriced, even considering DC brunch prices. For my main entree I chose their Fried Chicken Sandwich. The ingredients of the sandwich were of high quality (biscuit, fried chicken, egg), but the dish itself left a lot to be desired. There was a severe issue of a bun-to-meat ratio, with the ratio weighing heavily in favor of the biscuit buns. The dish also only came with a handful of sliced cherry tomatoes, which I understand was meant to balance the sandwich but still was underwhelming. At a price of 13, I guess I'm paying for the "organic" portion of the ingredients. The only reason I haven't given this place 2 stars is because my friends seemed to enjoy the other dishes (grilled chicken tacos, chicken and waffles, fried chicken Benedict). So while I personally wouldn't come back for their brunch, my friends seemed content which suggests that perhaps their other brunch dishes may redeem themselves. I am also still willing to give this place a chance for happy hour as their happy hour menu seemed pretty appetizing and not as pricey.
