Thank you Ms. Arlene Brown for a wonderful experience yet again. I first came to The Onyx about 10 years ago. She was the 1st new girl on the Block. Even with all the new buildings around today she still stands out. Let me point out that The Onyx were suppose to be Condos. This matters because the unit is built a little different from a reg apartment. It is well insulated (cant hear anything when windows are closed), stained concrete floors, under cabinet lighting, glass backsplash, tall ceilings, etc. The building still looks great with tons of amenities and the customer service today is even better from 10 years ago. Maintenance is always fast and efficient and the front desk is always pleasant. I knew when I sold my home and was waiting for my new home to be built my temporary stay was no question The Onyx again! What sealed the deal was the fact Ms. Arlene Brown is still the manager. You wont be disappointed! Some other buildings have more amenities but what they don't have is Ms. Arlene Brown and her staff!! Customer service in my opinion is worth more than amenities.

Onyx on First Street SE There are 3 IMPORTANT factors to consider that make this a appreciable home. 1. Quietness 2. Located near the Navy Yard Metro Subway Station 3. Excellent Management Staff with awe-inspiring residential services Onyx on First Street is a #1 first class experience. It is amazingly quiet! Just ask any resident. Once you enter your home; it is like you are the only person in the building. The Navy Yard Metro Subway Station is near, however before you arrive you must travel through the Onyx on First waterfall that is located in the courtyard. I love the fact that after having a challenging day, I walk pass the waterfall and experience a peace and serenity that welcomes me home before I enter into the building. Welcome to a residential experience. The Onyx on First Management Staff make you feel as if you are the only resident. All if any concerns are handle expeditiously, thus making it a first class rental building. One last factor to consider: I have attached a picture of the sunset from the Onyx on First--rooftop that I love to enjoy. If you are looking for a home, Onyx on First, will meet and exceed all your expectations.
Great place to live. When I moved in I used a company called City to City Flat Rate Movers. They were so careful with my things and very cost effective. I will never pay for hourly movers again. These guys were great. I was so happy to move into Onyx on First. Safe, Clean, with friendly staff. Spacious living areas and a nice touch of elegance.
Living at Onyx on First has been by far the best living experience we've ever had (and probably will ever have)!! The staff is so incredibly friendly, and every morning I'm greeted by Theresa who is so lovely. The apartments are clean and come with so many amenities! Arlene Brown is truly the BEST and takes care of her residents. She gets things done and it reflects on the rest of the staff as well. Whenever something was broken it was fixed within 24 hours. We had a junior 1 bedroom and we loved it. It's very reasonable for DC as you get so many amenities included (pool on the roof and very cool BBQ area). Onyx has truly felt like home the past 2 years and I'm devastated to leave. We are only leaving as I have a job opp in NYC, but I have a feeling we'll be back one day. :) Thank you Arlene & Onyx for being incredible. We will miss you!
Moving in very soon. Apartments are very spacious and have amazing amenities. The staff is very friendly as well as the concierge staff. I just signed a new lease and Mrs. Arlene Brown was super helpful. You can tell she truly cares about her tenants and their satisfaction. Mrs. Brown made the process very easy. Thanks Mrs. Brown. Looking forward to moving in.
