We ordered our soil in early spring and got on the queue most likely earlier than other reviewers so our experience was nothing but great. Randy the owner was extremely responsive and our soil was delivered earlier than expected. Randy even took the time to explain/instruct me on methods for using our old chicken manure as compost (we’re fairly new to the garden life). In addition to the great service we got, it’s clear that the soil from Susitna Organics is superb as everything we planted/transplanted is flourishing and has grown better than the plants in store bought soil. It’s a small, local family business. Order early and be patient. The quality of their soil is worth it!

I would recommend Ken's garden center instead. Susitna had terrible customer communication they were not clear on many things and did not give a price. Was told it would take 2 weeks then told 100 people were in front of me and was not given a time frame at all. Over all left a very sour taste in my mouth. Ken's offered to bring soil to me today and was treated well and communicated with every step of the way.
I am sure this farms soil is nice. I really want to believe that. I ordered 16 yards of composted soil of which this gent is unable to deliver weeks later after accepting the order and we had to call ourselves to find this out. We could have planted our frost hardy plants last week. This week we still have no soil. We cancelled the order when he would only sell and deliver us 5 yards next week. I am truly sorry I really wanted to go with this company.
This has been the worst experience ever. The communication with this company is substandard to be polite about it. They set up a delivery for me after many emails, phone messages... so I was like finally... after taking a day off work they never called or showed up with the 7 yards of garden soil I ordered. This is the worst business in the valley, save yourself the trouble and fini some other place to do business. One word TERRIBLE !
