When I was ready for a strict program, this was the best place for me to get help. I've been sober for over a year. Though it took some falling down, CT Counseling was helpful and supportive. I'm very grateful.
At first I thought this place was wonderful and then I realized it's all about capital gain. Some counselors care more than others but most are from what I've learned less to be desired. They have my life back to an extent but methadone is what I refer to as liquid handcuffs. I'm stuck to this stuff and its not for me. I can't go on vacation, I cant feel well if I miss more than a couple doses. Doctors know what they are doing when they put you on this stuff. Turning you into human cattle only to kick you when you re down. I've had good and bad experiences but I'm tired of the hoops
In the beginning all they want to do is \help\ you, but then a year goes by and you're nothing more than a number to them, human cattle to for the state's money. It makes me wonder who they're REALLY trying to help! Don't get me wrong, some of the staff and faculty are great people and this is not directed at them; but the way the system operates, they way it's geared towards it's patients, is neglectful at best. I've lost 3 jobs while going to this place, did they care how long they kept me there until I had to go in for my morning shift? Nope, not one bit. The counsellors that work here have ZERO concern for your life and the tribulations surrounding it and its sickens me to my core. This place is just a god-awful mess that I regret ever getting involved with in the first place. Think THRICE before going here.
I've been going here for almost 3 years and I went to the Danbury, Ct. location for a year prior. I have no major complaints. I'm just happy to be clean! To be quite honest, I don't know if I could have got clean and also stayed clean without Ccc.
