I came to Grindstone to get a memorial tattoo of my horse that passed away earlier this year. I initially met the owner Dave who listened to brief summary of my idea and suggested his artist AJ. He was very friendly! He booked me in for a consultation and I came back for the consultation a week later. I told AJ everything I wanted. Triforce, death date, my horses portrait, rope border, everything on my shoulder. Then I said I need you to make it come to life. We scheduled me in for the tattoo. A few days before, he sent me the drawing and I was immediately in love. It was perfect. During my tattoo, AJ is so incredibly nice and you can really tell he loves his work. His bedside manner was great. Very gentle handed, and would always make me laugh whenever I would growl at a spot that was a little ouchy. "Don't give me that, you're paying me to hurt you." So funny. There was a point I needed a break where I apologized and he was so cool and said he totally understands. His artwork and his professionalism speak for itself. He really captured everything I wanted and made it come out so perfect. Thank you so much! Please, if you want a great tattoo, GO TO AJ!

Love Grindstone. Have been to 4 artists from this place and I'm always satisfied with the work. Very clean and professional. Easy to get along with. Great to collaborate with when you have an idea of what you want but can't put it on paper. #ajvandevelde and #cailincrofts are amazing. This photo is a tattoo in progress. The shop is clean and modern. I got my tattoo with Cailin. Cailin is a wonderful artist with a great personality. She gave me a tattoo that was exactly what I wanted with an impressive colour palette. The photograph was taken the day after the tattoo was done
