An intelligent location monitoring system customised to meet the unique needs of Dementia patients and their carers. Wandering is a common occurrence among people with dementia. There can be many causes including confusion, boredom, restlessness and out of habit. Whatever the cause, it can be extremely stressful for both patients and their carers and the outcomes can be very serious. The Carelink solution aims to improve wandering outcomes and quality of life for dementia patients and their carers. Carelink is; • A Location & Monitoring system customised for people with dementia • A Sensor Tag – low-cost, robust, energy-efficient • A Training & Education platform to support key stakeholders The Carelink consortium consists of 6 partners including 2 Academic Institutions (TSSG, Univova), 3 SMEs (OpenSky Data, u-sentric and Creagy) and one representative from the non-profit sector. The core footprint for the team covers Belgium, Portugal, Ireland and Switzerland. Carelink is an H2020 project, co-funded by the European Commission under the AAL theme.
