If you are looking for a cozy bar this is a great place. The cocktails menu is bigger than the food menu and there are many well crafted cocktails to try. It's more expensive than normal bars from the area but it's worth to visit

My friend and I have been trying out all the pubs and bars within the Waterloo area for a while now. 21 Fir Whiskey Bar Kitchen is definitely one among the top of our lists. It is a little pricey for students, although the cocktails are absolutely worth the price. My friend tried the Monte Carlo and I had the Pot of Gold. And I must say that our palates were so satisfied. Monte Carlo is a rye whiskey based cocktail which is more on the spirit side with a flavor of orange, and Pot of Gold is an irish whiskey based cocktail which is more on the frothy side and is perfect blended with lime and ginger. This is a perfect place to relax at with a drink or two and some good company or even alone after a tiring weekend, especially if you love jazz

Had a great cocktail, Smoking Sphere along with the charcuterie. The drink was a bit on the expensive side when you are trying to get more customers in. The charcuterie was excellent and priced well. Unfortunately they do not have a full menu right now. Hope to return when they have more to offer.

Think Twice Before Ordering From Their Wine Menu !!! This was my first experience at this bar and possibly my last. I showed up in the early evening of what would normally be a very enthusiastic Saturday. There were very little customers at that time. The fact that there were no menus available for viewing should have been a hint to go elsewhere. We asked the waitress and she did not know what the house wine was or prices for that matter, and also did not check and get back to us. We figured a glass of red or white house is roughly 10 a glass as this is the industry expectation. We proceeded to order a few times and when ready, we asked for the bill. So here's the kicker …. We were charged 22 for a glass of house wine !?!? We then politely approached the waitress who got the manager involved. He did not acknowledge where they went wrong and mentioned that we are enduring tough times, which to me does not mean price gauging your customers, who you should be grateful to have! The manager also mentioned that they don't need customers like us, proceeded to raise his voice to the point that people sitting approximately 30 feet away started to stare - extremely embarrassing! Our case was not being heard, he did not give us a logical explanation for any of the issues mentioned above, and finally his best defense was for us to put on masks. Awkward silence .... I can understand that while no one is perfect, it's not the problem at hand but the way you handle it. This was completely illogical, absurd, embarrassing and lacked major professionalism, which could have all been eliminated if the waitress knew the drinks featured, basic prices and selection and/or a wine list for customers to make educated decisions. With so many bars and hangouts in this trendy area, I cannot see this level of service and prices go very far.

extremely unprofessional experience at this location tonight. I had heard positive things leading up to this experience. The woman that greeted us was rude and unprofessional without giving any explanation as to her response.

Have been here once before, and enjoyed the drinks and food with a group of friends. Unfortunately, after tonight I will not be returning as the women that greeted us was very unprofessional and rude - disappointed.

I would have to say if your coming to Waterloo and looking for a great , relaxed but stylish establishment, 21 Fir Whiskey Bar and eatery is the place to make a reservation. Be sure to stop by on a Friday night for the buck a shuck as well each night of the week hosts a different highlight feature also the menu has a variety of creative options. Hands down the reason for coming is the talent behind the rustic sheek designed bar. The drink menu is by far constructed with talent and thought and the drinks are executed with persion. We will definitely be putting a pin on the map for this place and will recommend to all.
