Acies Solutions is a startup company in Canada’s Waterloo Region - a thriving hotspot of technology-startup activity. Founded in the fall of 2014, Acies Solutions is a research-driven startup working on predictive-analytics software, and related data-services, for niche-to-mid-sized organizations’ business and data challenges. Our first application focuses on cloud-hosted machine-learning and behaviour-recognition in dense streams of user-generated data. With our home-grown neural-network-family algorithms, we provide almost-instantaneous feedback on whether a data stream contains signals of abnormal activity, or if it is acting 'normally'​ as defined by an initial reference (or 'training'​) data-set. Our initial applications target data-privacy, electronic fraud-detection, and human-decision emulation. For future investigation and development, our other interests include identifying signals of impending failure in complex systems, and rapid application of non-standard (non-Gaussian) statistical methods for 'tipping point'​ forecasting in a variety of physical systems or activities. The founders of Acies Solutions have strong foundations in fields of applied physics and engineering, but have also experienced success in the application of theory in the business world. We have worked applying these talents to various industries, giving the team substantial experience with practical application of science to real-world problems.
