Great spot for a coffee and baked goods. Staff is always pleasant and everything is very tasty. Cafe is a regular stop on walks Uptown Waterloo.

Lovely elevated patio in the city. Ample space with fast friendly service. Food was hot and tasty! The artichoke dip came highly recommended and did not disappoint!

My friend and I walked in to have a nice dinner. At the end, we left feeling very dehumanized and embarrassed. The whole thing started after we had ordered 2 bottles of water. After serving the water, the waitress proceeded to insist that we pay for the water before ordering our meal. How absurd I thought? However in questioning her, I quickly realized we were being discriminated. She lied that it was ‘policy’ to pay before eating and the ‘manager‘ himself revealed that was because of a prior issue they claimed to have with my friend (and NOT due to ‘policy’) This ‘manager’ was a smallish, blond man who claimed to be the owner of the establishment. We were trying to have dialogue with him and when he got frustrated with being civil, he turned hostile and violently asked my friend and I to leave. He looked me in my face and told me I was irrelevant and that he didn’t care abut anything I said. Imagine my shock! I believe he lied about his position due to his arrogance, lack of class and plain disrespect for customers. I KNOW no owner would ever behave like that regardless. I’m not saying my friend and I were saints, but we were civil and trying to explain our concerns. This ‘manager’ doesn’t care about business and treats people very poorly. He and his staff lack common decency, respect and don’t take their time to do anything. Rushing to serve food won’t make people come back especially when the service makes you feel less than a human being. I’ve never had such an experience and it was painful but also a harsh learning experience. There are so many uneducated people out there who use agression and hatred to solve simple problems. Édit: I’ve just read a little about the owners of Heuthers online and my anger has been calmed because I know for sure they are not good people, confirmed by many others.

Order and pay at the counter and they’ll give you a number to place on your table of choice. Very cozy atmosphere, homefries are the best I’ve had in town. Lots of unique options on the menu!
