Lovely scenery and food at Omni place. The people there are nice and happy to serve you

I got the original beef noodles. You get to pick your noodle size which I thought was neat. Compared to Gol's, I feel like this place has more of a 'gourmet' feeling. The portions are a little smaller and the broth feels 'cleaner' (each have their own benefits.) Regardless, this place is fantastic in its own right. I would definitely recommend if you like beef noodles.
I have to admit ... this joint has some of the best Chinese (Lanzhou noodles) cuisine in Waterloo. We read the online reviews (most of them positive) and since I was craving some good noodles, we trekked it here. I chose the \thin round\ for both of my dishes ... beef shank soup that was deliciously seasoned with wonderfully cooked cubes of meat, and the beef and veggie stir-fry was truly tasty, spicy yet flavorful. Our third dish, stewed beef with potatoes was more on the milder side of spicy, with big chunks of both meat a potatoes, as well as other veggies. The sauce for this dish was a perfect compliment with the rice. The restaurant is bright and airy, with slightly smaller tables, but we both were comfortable here. The only drawback to today's dining experience ... was the lacklustre service. The fellow that served us, forgot to order 2 of the BBQ dishes we requested (which since I'm a self-professed carnivore, I was really looking forward to). There was also no inquiry, throughout our meal, as to how/if we enjoyed our food. I could have used another beverage, but the server did not return to our table, as his attention was focused on his mobile (a bit too much). We'll definitely return ... and you should definitely give this place a try (plenty of parking in back ... you're welcome). Just hoping that maybe next time we'll end up with a more attentive server.
The food is amazing, now if they could only get someone that speaks English to answer their phone. I order from them three times a week at work. They changed their Skip The Dishes menu so I called to see if they were still making my favorite dish as I couldn't find it on their new menu. The lady that answered the phone didn't speak a single word of English outside of the word \ order \. Sad, I love the place and would like to keep ordering from them. But it seems they lost a multiple time a week customer and I lost one of my favourite places to eat. Having at least one person that speaks the language in the city your resturant is located in.., would be super helpful to your business.
Used to be great, flavourful, fresh food with unique flavours. But, they recently changed their entire menu, and now it tastes like any other Chinese restaurant - not bad, but not nearly as good as before.
