Great place to skate in the winter, especially since covid-19 has shut down all the indoor rinks for non-elite athletes. No lineup if you at lunch during the weekdays. Max 10 people on the ice for 25 min, but if it's not busy, you can stay on until a lineup starts. Ice is resurfaced every 3-4 h, depending on how rough it is. My only issue is that there's no real-time updates, so sometimes I go on Fri at noon and find an hour-long lineup, and sometimes I pass by Sat morning on my way to the market and it's empty. I hate wasting my time to get there only to have to freeze my butt off for 25 min of ice time. Likewise with getting my hopes up after seeing an empty rink only to find a long line an hour later.

Since covid, the usual live events can't happen. My friends & I picnic @ the tables in the square. Lots of places to buy food or we bring our own. Great place to just hang out!

The public square in Uptown has been a great place to skate in the winter and always has interesting and fun events in the summer. The Waterloo BIA does an excellent job.

Great meeting place and well patrolled by security. Safe for familys..unlike downtown Kitchener which is like day and night.great eateries abound.

Small rink that the Zamboni goes over regularly. With the lockdown it's limited to 10 people for half and hour at a time. Which in many ways feels a lot nicer than having so many people on the rink as often happens.
