Avoid. I believe the term is highway robbery, when a hotel charges an extortionate amount - and then completely fails to deliver. We stayed in the "family apartment' - which is actually some sort of converted office on the ground floor next to the car-park. The blinds didn't work, so you couldn't raise them - so it was dank (and yes, the bathroom ceiling did have black mould) not that you would open the blinds anyway - as cars were less than 1m away from the single-pane glass, staring straight in. There was absolutely no light or sound protection, and we had the worst nights sleep, interrupted by every car driving past, parking, guests arguing, guests vomiting, smoking etc. If they charged accordingly, as a 2star provision - I wouldn't have written this review, but they charged us so much money - more than a 5* Sydney hotel. There is no justification im just ripping people off.

Stayed easter Satuday night. Room was older than depicted in photos. Clean, but no hot water around 8:30pm. Alarm clock time was hours off. 1 bedside lamp doesn't work. Shower and basin taps loose including spout. Cupboard handles loose or missing. No cutlery or plates making microwave useless. Shower screen badly stained along bottom edge. Room lacking maintenance. 239 too much considering faults. Will ask for discount. I just changed my review to 1 star as they have not bothered to respond to my request for a discount....even if they won't discount any reasonable business would respond to a customer's email....
Thank you so much to the staff at Waters edge Port Macquarie. For making our stay so enjoyable. Special thanks to Lee from reception an Joseph who works in the bar also in the breakfast room. Nothing was any trouble to either of them. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you. Robyn from Sydney
The room was a bit dated for the price, the vanity bowl had cracks in it that ended up cutting my finger. The staff are polite but seem like they don't want to be there except by sufferance. And if you need wi-fi for any work purposes, or even less, I suggest you stay somewhere else, it just didn't connect or work.
Loud. Spent one night here and wished we hadn't. Our room faced the street and carpark and it was just loud, a combination of street noise and people coming and going. The car park is about a metre from the bedroom windows, which are old, thin, and not well sealed. Road noise was loud most of the night, and people were talking, smoking, arguing, and once even vomiting in the car park until about 1am, and then again from before 6. You expect this from a cheap motor inn but not for the price we paid. The room had been renovated relatively recently. Decor was decent with some nice touches. Beds were firm but OK. A few minor maintenance issues but no show-stoppers. Mould on the bathroom ceiling, and the carpet left black on our feet, but otherwise clean.
Large and spacious room. Friendly staffs and suitable for family.
So disappointed with such a smelly room. Carpet feels as though you could catch something from it. Needs to be ripped up throughout. Tired bathroom with dirty shower head and surrounds. Hasn't seen bleach in sometime. Booking.com was totally inaccurate. Would NOT recommend.
So disappointing! One star for the location an that's it! The bathroom hasn't seen bleach in some time and has a smell coming out of the drain. I doubt the carpet has ever been steam cleaned and needs ripping up throughout the rooms and public areas. The cupboards and soap dispensers have seen better days. It took me 3 hours, with the balcony door open, to get used to the smell that is steaming off the old carpet (it didn't get rid of it). Skirting boards are full of dusk and I wonder if I'll catch something un-hygienic by the time I leave. Thank goodness it is only one night. Won't ever be fooled by booking.com ratings again and will definitely not book here again or advise anyone else to.
