I went to Aquatic Treasures to buy fish for a 29 gallon tank I had set up the week before and was extremely pleased with my visit. There were many beautiful fish that I would not have found at other independent fish stores around town. I left with two tricolor sharks, an angelfish, a ruby barb, and a rainbow fish. The owner was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. As I had already set up my tank (tank, filter, light, some plants, temp...) I didn’t look for any tank essentials here but they did have a few tanks, pH meters, thermometers and those sorts of things.

So, this place is never open. They are not open until 6 PM M-F as the pictures suggest. I got there at 4:30 today. Empty. Sat in the parking lot calling other fish shops in the area and saw 3 more potential customers drive up and pull on the door. I don’t understand how a business doesn’t stay open at least until 6 when people get off work at 5. This shop must be doing VERY well financially to be able to advertise times and never be there. That, or it’s a money laundering front. Who knows. Anyway, my experience confirms what many of these reviews say...it’s never open.

One of the best tropical fish stores around. Having three tanks of my own I've visited many many stores, none come close to underwater depot. Their displays are outstanding. The planted tanks are show worthy. Overall an amazing store that I'd definitely recommend for all aquarists to visit.

I stopped in at this place out of curiosity after driving past it for years. I'm a fairly experienced fish keeper, and I always love finding new spots to look for fish, live plants, etc. The conditions in this store are appalling. Every single tank is absolutely filthy. Their bettas are kept in tiny glass vases (\u003cone liter) filled with brown, scummy water. I saw at least one dead. They have a ten inch koi in a 40 gallon tank with two plecos and an oranda goldfish. The koi is obviously unwell; it was gasping for air at the surface of the water and occasionally flipping over onto its back. When I asked the proprietor about it, he told me "it's fine". No, it is OBVIOUSLY not fine. If you truly care about fish, do not give this store your business. They neglect their livestock, keep filthy tanks, and keep some of their animals in absolutely inappropriate enclosures. If you're in the Boston area and are looking for a clean, healthy, responsibly-owned store to purchase fish and aquarium supplies from, I highly suggest Tropic Isle in Framingham. The have a wide variety of fish, both salt and freshwater, and live plants, and their customer service is stellar. DO NOT go to this establishment.
